Post in Your Blog:
Post three times in your blog (research journal), using the numbers, letters, and phrases in bold as the titles of your respective posts:
RJA #4a: Keywords–Using the FOREST LOG scheme in “Internet Search Tips and Strategies” (scroll about halfway down the page), the instructions on pages 69-73 in your textbook, and the resources here, generate a list of keywords from your research question and a ladder of generalization for your research topic. In your research journal, post the list of keywords you’ve generated with synonymous or related terms grouped together and the ladder of generalization you’ve created. Bookmark any of the websites you used that you might want to reference again and tag them appropriately.
RJA# 4b: Search Strings–As needed, use the resources here to review or learn how to write search strings using search engine math and Boolean operators. Write at least two or three of each type of search string (search engine math and Boolean) with the keywords you generated this week. Use as many of the keywords as possible. The more you use, the better your results will be. Post the search strings you wrote in your research journal.
RJA #4c: Research Question Check–Go to two of your classmates’ blogs (ENG 1020, ENG 122) and check their research questions (Research Journal Assignment #3c). In comment on those posts, offer any suggestions you have for improving their research questions (for example, narrowing their topics or focusing on a less agreed-upon aspect of their topics) or reinforce that the questions are well written as they are. In your own blog, post links to the web addresses of the posts you commented on (not the main addresses for the blogs).
Use the department and course number (ENG 1020 or ENG 122) and other appropriate tags (”Labels” on Blogger) for each of the three posts.
