Celebration of 500th Anniversary of Henry VIII’s Coronation on Renaissance Island

June 24, 2009 · Comments Off

Five hundred years ago today, Henry VIII and Katherine of Aragon were jointly crowned at Westminster Abbey.

To celebrate this momentous occasion, Renaissance Island will enact the event on the weekend. The Parish is deep in the throes of cleaning the streets and polishing the Abbey!  We hope that you will join us to take part in the pageantry, fun, food, and music, as the 16th century steps out of the history books to meet the 21st!

I’m going to be helping some colleagues from Front Range Community College review proposals for a conference coming up next month:  Virtual Worlds – Best Practices in Education.  I’ll be looking at ones for the blended teaching/learning and educational tools and products streams.  Abstracts/proposals are due today.  The conference will take place March 27 through 29 in Second Life.

February 8, 2009 · 2 Comments

Yesterday, laura1621, author of Rhetorically Squeaking, commented, “I love what you are doing with Second Life. I have thought about getting involved in/checking out Second Life, but I’m afraid that I would wind up playing versus doing anything remotely work related. Maybe I can figure out a way, now.”

I put the following list together for her and other educators like her who want to check out Second Life but haven’t done it yet.
