Following the instructions and examples on pages 395-396 in your textbook and in “Developing an Outline,” create a formal outline for your argumentative paper based on the argument you constructed for Research Journal Assignment #10. The outline should include at least three levels of detail (Roman numbers, capital letters, and Arabic numerals) and as many sections as needed.
You may use the template provided on the Files page on the class wiki (ENG 1020, ENG 122).
Remember that an outline is a plan that can be changed. Right now I want to know what your plan is for your paper, but I realize that when you start writing, you may change the plan.

Please clearly indicate your research question, precise claim, reasons/blueprint, and complete thesis statement.
RJA #10b: Argument–Using the guide on pages 190-192 of the textbook and the discussion and examples on pages 182-190, construct your argument. Add and subtract elements as needed. Please use bold and/or italics to indicate the headings and subheadings.
If you need to, continue searching for reference works, books, and periodical articles on your topic. Update the appropriate posts on your blog if you find more sources. Don’t forget to bookmark relevant sites in your Delicious account and add any relevant RSS feeds to your Protopage.
Use the department and course number (ENG 1020 or ENG 122) and other appropriate tags (”Labels” on Blogger) for the posts.
A few days ago, I finished reading The Phoenix Transformed (New York: Tom Doherty Associates, 2009)by Mercedes Lackey and James Mallory. While the resolution of the plot was interesting, I was disappointed with the book overall. Without spoiling the book for anyone else, I’ll just say that Chapters Seven through Sixteen (pages 150-391), about half the book, could have been left out without any loss.
Since I read the first book in the series, I’ve been trying to figure out what the phoenix in the titles is because, while there are dragons, there are no animals of that species in the book. I guess it must refer to High Magic and Wild Magic as possessed by Knight Mages, which reappeared after a 1000-years hiatus to deal with the new evil in the world.
