I’ve been meaning to test Google Alerts for some time because I’ve been thinking about recommending it to my students when I teach research, but I’ve had trouble deciding what search string to use because I wanted one that would get a few results weekly. I finally decided on the following settings:
Search Terms: “4R x T” (including the quotation marks)
Type: Comprehensive (includes news, blogs, web, video, and groups)
How Often: once a week (other options: as it happens and once a day)
I’ll post the results in my blog, so we can see how well it works.
